BGinFL 0 Posted January 9, 2015 Just purchased a NVR and some cameras from SC-King. I was told by a friend that if I setup the NVR and the cameras on my current network and router I will bog it down He advised to get a switch and run the NVR to it and from it to the router then run another cable to a POE switch up in attic from the same switch the NVR is connected to. Sounds confusing and not sure if necessary. I would have the NVR handle all the network traffic from the cameras on a separate Gateway or subnet or separate network from my internet and smart TV's so on. Is this something I really need to do more research on or can I get by running it all through the current network.
