How to visualize an unknown camera video streaming?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I hope I am in the correct forum area.

I have Chinese camera (named generically "Netcamera") that I installed a while ago, working on IE and its own visualization SW.

It is basically made up of an "ordinary" Sony camera, mounted on a mechanism to realize the PTZ movements and a webserver.

I am now trying to build my home CCTV system and I started experimenting.

I have installed iSpy on my Windows XP PC and IPCamViewer on my Android phone.

Now the weird thing is that on IPCamViewer I can correctly see the images (although not control the camera through PTZ commands) after several attempt.

The images are received using these configurations on IPCamViewer:

As Camera:

- Aviosys 9360

- Shixin IP 106

- Shixin IP 510

As DVR channel or webserver:

- CoviSec ALD-400HK w/Web Port

- Defender SN301-8CH w/Web Port

- Gadspot GS2002 DVR w/Web Port

- KGuard KG-SHA108 w/Web Port

- LTS LTD2294HM w/Web Port

- NIGHT OWL FS DVR w/Web Port

- Q-SEE DVR w/Web Port

- RaySharp H264 DVR w/Web Port

- Shixin IP-109 w/Web Port

- Shixin IP-510 w/Web Port

- SVAT DVR w/Web Port

- ZMODO DVR w/Web Port

I tried picking up each of these devices configurations (for example: IPADDRESS:PORT/snapshot.cgi?user=[uSER]&pwd=[PASSWORD]&count=0 and many more) but could not succeed in getting the camera images visualized.

I read through the HTML code of its own visualization page (made up by 3 html frames: ptz.hml, display.html, control.hmtl frames) but I could not come up with a decent URL to get the image visualized into the software, moreover if I go straight to IPADDRESS:PORT/display.html I see a black image.

Any advice on the format of video streaming URL string that I could try (I can also post the display.html source code)?

Thanks a lot.

Alberto
