Recommended Posts

Hello Members!

I am planning to buy HIKVISION 24 Channel DVR DS-7224HVI-SH with Remote HDMI Network Port Online View from here

http://www.ebay.in/itm/HIKVISION-24-Channel-DVR-DS-7224HVI-SH-Remote-HDMI-Network-Port-Online-View-/151552007491

Seller is also promising FREE Server support or Domain name for online viewing.

As i dont see any review for this model, i doubt over performance of this product. So members please advice, should i go for HIKVISION 24 Channel DVR DS-7224HVI-SH or is there any other good options for 24 channels.

Thanks!!

That is a good basic unit, 24ch DVR, 4CIF@12fps for all 24 channel (that is what I understand; but I am unable to find it on Hikvision's web site). Ask the seller to make sure on how many fps it does at maximum resolution on each channel. If 4CIF@12fps (or whatever) is good enough for you and price suits you, go for it (no idea about the price, I do not know what a Rs is worth).

About the "free server support"; it is Hikvision who provides that, so he is not offering anything that any other Hikvision device does not also come with.

Hello @mindtwist,

Thanks for your reply. Let me make price simpler for you i.e. $250

This model is not available on official HIKvision website but they have got it in user manuals, try find HIKVISION DS-7224HVI-SH in the following pdf file

http://oversea-download.hikvision.com/uploadfile/Leaflet/UM/User%20Manual%20of%20DS-7200&7300&8100-SH%20Series%20DVR_V2.2.5_20131210.pdf

I am not familiar with modes but i know little about fps i.e. higher the frames, higher would be the quality. So what are these modes?

Mode1: 4CIF / 2CIF @ 12 fps or CIF / QCIF @ 25 fps (P) / 30 fps (N)
Mode2: Channel 1: 4CIF / 2CIF / CIF / QCIF @ 25 fps (P) / 30 fps (N),
Channel 2~4: CIF / QCIF @ 25 fps (P) / 30 fps (N)

I know about 4CIF, 2CIF, CIF and QCIF, so kindly explain about modes and their channels only

I agree with you regarding HIKvision own server support but anyway please advice that should i go for my own static ip or HIKvision`s server to watch cameras online?

I am open for other DVR`s suggestions also.

Thanks!!

Mode1 should be good for you. If I understand correct, that is 4CIF@12fps all channels. That means that the 24 channels can record at 4CIF (704x576, assuming India uses PAL) at 12 frames per second.

We do not carry the HVI-SH series any more, it is a low end series. But if the price suits you, it is a good choice.

@mindtwist thanks for your reply.

In india we uses NTSC video format. And regarding modes, can we select them manually via DVR or some other technical process to follow.

What all better DVR options do we have from HIKvision in 24 Channel analog range. Kindly suggest with advantages.

Thanks!!
