Robert91362 0 Posted January 31, 2015 I'm going to install a Swann DVR8-3425 w/6 Pro 540 Cameras. I'm concerned about the aesthetic placement on the front of the garage. I've attached photos of the location. Any advice as to exactly where to place the camera in front of the garage? The apex of the garage portion we're looking at is about 20ft high. I'm thinking just to the left of the beam - low enough to have an unobstructed vantage point? Or, do I try to keep the camera under the eaves?
ssnapier 0 Posted January 31, 2015 Keeping it under the eave will protect it from weather a bit (and give it shade/ cooling) but you have to consider maintenance concerns for the future also. Do you have a ladder that can reach this spot?

Do you have a ladder that can reach this spot? No ladder. I'm probably going get an assistant to help with the actual install (drilling through stucco, running wire in attic & wall, etc). But, depending on the experience of the installer, I wanted to make sure the exterior placement was expertly placed - getting as much coverage as possible without being an eyesore. I understand that these cameras only have a 59 degree view angle.

Will be easier to run a single ethernet cable..You will be able to easily get cams with 70-98 degree viewing angles with MUCH MUCH better resolution than the system you are considering.
