Hi ,

i am trying to create a network shared folder inside the dvr's hdd , that will be called VIDEOS, and i would like to be able to access (share) this folder from my PC and other network devices.

Can anyone help me on how i can do this....

So far i was not able to ftp my dvr or discover it in my home network...although it has an ip address..

You can't.

The hdd is only dedicated to the dvr/nvr or cannot be used for something else since most of the time is is based on a Linux platform. However, you can access the hdd by using the Web interface of the dvr/nvr and watch the recorded videos by using the playback function built-in the device. Please look at your manual how you have to access the dvr from your pc.

Unless he is using a PC based dvr or video capture on a PC

Assuming he is telling the thruth in that other topic, he has a dvr. Since you cannot do something useful on a pc without a hdd, well booting in the bios perhaps or from a removable drive.

I guess you are right....

I didn't install yet an HDD...i will do....

Thank you, for the info...

Best not mixing posts ....... Your link is 10 days ago and since then has installed one.

Still the fact is ..... Is he using standalone or pc

Creating a file on HD (in form of a partition) is not a problem

Snap shots

Anpr logs

Face time

Can all be stored that way it stops that data being overwritten

Still need to find out if PC based or capture device on pc or standalone

Thank you all for your interest,

i am uploading some photos so you can see my DVR....probably is a replica from another Chinese dvr but with another Logo name...

ANGA AQ-5308LH Linux.

Hybrid 8 Channel.

There are actually 2-3 things i am trying to achieve :

a)to create a network with it so i can access the HDD from my pc remotely within my home network

b)to be able to upload snapshots at motion detection to my email, and not only get an Alarm Message

c)i would like to upload the live image via Http to a website

A- only by using the web interface of the dvr or an mobile app

B- not possible due to limitations of the system when looking at pictures in the manual. Try something to find with snapshots when alarm has been triggered and send snapshot when email is sent in your settings.

C- try to look on the website of ispy about the url, try the urls of zmodo to see if it works.

Definitely Dahua. I don't know about the HDD accessibility on a Hikvision DVR but you're good with them or sure on the rest of the list.
