My DVR went kaputz recently and now shopping for a new shiny one So I hope any of you can advise a cheap/reasonable DVR for home and here's my check list. - 4 or 8 channel (preferrably 8 ) - can be accessed externally just with a simple of port forwarding (i've come across one that you need to register to cloud and on your mobile, you need a special app that you need to register and sign in to their cloud to access your cameras.....NIGHTMARE!) - ability to add IP camera (a nice to have) - ability to manage remotely( via browser to manage network, users, etc. Not just to view cameras) - cheapest possible just purely cuz I'm cheap Cheers guys Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Don Stephens 0 Posted February 3, 2015 You mention DVR but then say you want the ability to add IP cameras. Do you actually want an NVR, or are you wanting something compatible with both analog and IP. If you're after a Hybrid, there's no such thing as a cheap (and still functional) model. I didn't realize theirs could only connect to one IP camera. The cheaper Dahua Tribrids they recently released are limited to two. Now that you say that, it occurs to me that I actually haven't looked at Dahua's 4 channel model yet. It may very well only support one IP camera as well..
