twooly 0 Posted February 3, 2015 Hello all hopefully you can help me with an issue that started on one of my cameras about 2 weeks ago. I've got 3 of these cameras setup and have been running problem free for about 6 months. Recently I noticed on camera started doing flashing like its trying to do the day/night shift and just getting stuck. After watching it closer I did notice it does happen at both dusk/dawn but at dawn is worse to the point the only thing I can do is reboot the device. At dusk the camera does do the flashing a little but never to a point at reboot is needed and it will continue to work until dawn. At dawn it gets so bad and will continue doing it non-stop until I reboot. I've tried changing to schedule and that doesn't seem to do anything. Ive turned WDR off/on, changed filtering time to 60, changed sensitivity to 1 and to 7 all with the same results. I do notice the camera is already in Day mode before it happens. Out of ideas and what else I can do. Model PX-IPIR203 Firmware Version V5.1.0 build 131202 Here is a video at dusk. ZZuevJGP1rY and here is the dawn video vJcqVzrDxxI Thank you in advance
abdelm01 0 Posted February 3, 2015 What is the temperature there. Also is that the DS-2CD2032. Log into the Camera Web interface and under configurations, what does the Model# say. We can try to upgrade the FW to 5.2.0 to see if that would help.
twooly 0 Posted February 3, 2015 The model in the webui above the serial is PX-IPIR203, from what I've read its pretty much an unbranded version of the DS-2CD2032. Temps have been in the 30s most days and then teens at night. I just did a restore to defaults so seeing if I maybe did some setting that dorked with it, Ill report back in the morning. Don Stephens 0 Posted February 3, 2015 The PX-IPIR203 is apparently the same as the 2032. That was up for discussion in the past on various forums. 1. How are you powering the cameras? If it's with a PoE switch, can you give us the model number? 2. Where is the power supply located? 3. How did you weatherproof your connections between camera and cable? 4. What are you recording to? Directly to PC or with a standalone unit? 5. What kind of cable did you run?
abdelm01 0 Posted February 3, 2015 All those questions that Don has asked, are really important. I think the IRIS is going out on it, if it is then thou have to get the camera replaced. Also if you want to upgrade the camera to the 5.2.0 you can to get that step out of the way. That's what i would do first. Using a POE Switch http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0086SQDMM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Power supply is in my basement attached to the wall. Used the built in waterproof connector and the connector is up in the soffit out of direct contact to the elements minus just being in the soffit Recording to a SMB share on a 2012 Server, also use Milestone Protect on that same server Ran a standard bulk buy cat5e cable to the location, ~100 of cable if I were to guess. I would upgrade but afraid they may go back to Chinese, not 100% sure since I did buy the cameras on Amazon. Ill be glad to if I knew that wouldn't happen. twooly 0 Posted February 3, 2015 So it looks like the reset to defaults didn't help, I can see it doing it now at dusk. I forgot to add I moved ports on the poe switch also to try and rule that out, in fact I swapped ports with another camera thats fine to make sure it wasn't a specific port. twooly 0 Posted February 5, 2015 Looks like the firmware may have fixed it. I didn't see it do the flashing last night or this morning and I haven't rebooted either. Hopefully that was it. Thanks for the help.
