misterjeffreybarnes 0 Posted February 7, 2015 Hi guys, I really really need a suggestions in here as this is my first time to setup a CCTV system with 29 units of IPC in a building with 3 floors and a basement. Here are the scenario: Basement: 6 IPC Ground Floor: 15 IPC First Floor: 5 IPC Second Floor: 3 IPC Server Room will be in first floor with 32 channels NVR Do I have to place a PoE switch on each floor? jeromephone 6 Posted February 7, 2015 you will have to place your POE switches no more than 300 ft from the cameras if you can do everything from the server room that will make your management that much eaiser. If you can afford a mananged switch I would go for it as that will allow you to do such things as shut off ports, port aggregation and control.
