Ozone 0 Posted February 14, 2015 I am looking at purchasing the hikvision ds-2cd6412fwd-30 1.3mp covert camera: http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=2371 I plan on having this camera hidden so when someone opens the door it captures a picture and emails it to me. I should be the only one opening the door so if anyone ever breaks the lock and opens the door I would like to receive an email with the photo attached. Is this what the alarm feature is for? Any suggestions on magnetic alarm contacts or substitutions? Also looking for any tutorials on how to get it setup. Thanks
riri7707 0 Posted February 14, 2015 I do not know specially this model but it includes I/O port. Means using In imput, you can trigger and Alarm. But not sure if it's ok with Basic magnetic contact. Per my kwnoledge , the magnetic ILS works always on negative way: Close in normal status when the door is closed and Open in Alarm mode. You will need to make some try with a standard wire before and check if the In is NO (normally Open) or NC (normally closed). This is important to know and check in the settings if you can have the choice. Other way, you will need to add some basic electronics to provide the right information state to the input to manage it. Hope this helps.
Securame 0 Posted February 14, 2015 It can work with any magnetic contact. There are magnetic contacts with NO/NC option; and also you can choose on the camera config if the alarm is NO or NC.
