ilovetacos1756 0 Posted February 20, 2015 I installed a system for a client 4 months ago that included four CM-512 Open Eye PTZs. They are connected to an Open Eye DVR. I returned to add two more PTZ's and all was well. About two months ago one of the cameras developed an issue. The image became very distorted and blurry. I replaced the camera with a factory replacement. I have replaced the BNC's on both ends of the cable. I installed ground loop isolators on all cameras in the system. I moved the power connection to a new output on my Altronix 24vac power supply. The PS is a 16ch unit of which only 8 are being used. After my last trip to the site the camera looked great for three weeks and now the problem has returned. If i reboot the camera it will look okay for 24-48 hours and then overnight will revert back and look like junk. I am out of ideas and my customer is losing patience. Has anyone seen this before? ilovetacos1756 0 Posted February 20, 2015 Camera is running over Genesis RG59-18/2 Siamese. Wire run is approx. 275'. Oh, BTW did I mention the camera is 40 feet in the air? Which makes troubleshooting tougher.
the toss 0 Posted February 23, 2015 You will need to look at the camera output when the problem is occuring to determine if it is a camera fault or a signal transmission problem. Go from there
Ed Rose 0 Posted February 26, 2015 Check the power supply to the camera. I had a similar issue with a high resolution camera that turned out to be a lack of sufficient power for the camera. Especially running it such a long distance. You may need more amperage for it. The camera I used seemed to draw a more current than it was "spec'd" out for. Increasing the power to it corrected it for me.
