mastepa1 0 Posted February 28, 2015 Hi there im in desperate need of some help in what seems to be too technical for me. Ive just brought a cctv kit with dvr and 3 cameras and a 500gig hardrive,so far so good untill i need to setup to view online. I purchaced a wireless-N mini router and ethernet cable. My dvr is upstairs and main hub/router is down stairs. dont want to run an extra long ethernet cable around the house. So I have become stuck setting up this mini router to connect to the internet then for my dvr to then to be viewable on my phone. Ive no idea what needs to be done. I have no clue about isp's map this bla bla bla ssid etc.......... sorry for my lack of technical terminology. So im not sure where to start im stumped. Some detailed simple step by step help would be much appreciated. Or even better A phonecall Thanks
tomcctv 190 Posted February 28, 2015 Hi. If you are new to networking then I would say use power line sockets to link your network to your dvr Also you will still need to do some port forwarding ..... So can you list your recorder make and also you router you are using at the moment. http://www.netgear.co.uk/home/products/networking/powerline/XAVB5201.aspx
