JoeyJoey 0 Posted March 7, 2015 Nope. Hikvision is obsessed with using the ActiveX plug ins.
buellwinkle 0 Posted March 8, 2015 It's not an activex plugin, but a plugin nonetheless, works with most browsers but only works on Windows or Mac. So you have three choices; 1. see if there's some sort of app for IP cameras, similar to a smartphone app to view the cameras 2. get cameras that run anywhere like Axis. 3. replace the chromebook with one of the new low cost Windows laptops in the same price range. JoeyJoey 0 Posted March 9, 2015 Hopefully they will stop using plugins and move to html5. You have other options. Install linux on the chromebook, then install VirtualBox to run windows. http://www.networkworld.com/article/2867025/opensource-subnet/3-ways-to-run-normal-linux-on-a-chromebook.html Remote desktop into a windows PC, the easiest. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chrome-remote-desktop/gbchcmhmhahfdphkhkmpfmihenigjmpp?hl=en Run the Android app on the chromebook. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2686712/run-any-android-app-on-your-chromebook-with-this-hack.html
