aliroly 0 Posted March 27, 2015 Hi, New to the forum so I'm not sure if this is the right place for this query, please move if not. I have a strange problem with my CCTV system maybe someone can help me with. It's a fairly dated system and a mish mash of different types of cameras all fed into a Dallmeier DLS 6 s1 recorder. Recently 2 new (fairly cheap) IR bullet cameras were added to the system (sentinent with manual zoom and focus). When viewing these live images from these cameras no problem are noted. When playing the recorded images there is white lines which move about and general distortion of the image in some areas. This is considerably less of an issue in low light. In fact one camera shows no problems during the night while the second which is placed close to an emergency exit light has only a little distortion in the area where this light falls. I've taken the camera down and found that if its pointed at an area with little direct light pointing at the lens the image is clean (even if there is enough light for the IR not to kick in) but when moved towards a light source the image deteriorates. Samir 0 Posted April 4, 2015 This sounds like an issue in the compression being done by the dvr on the image. See if there's a way to change the compression/quality settings.
