Wrong. Sensor size has no bearing on resolution. 1/2.7 is a slightly larger sensor than 1/2.8, assuming the sensors are measured in the same way. But you can't even conclude that without more information, which camera manufacturers rarely publish.

 

For practical use, there is basically no difference between the two sensor sizes. You might see a slight difference in the field of view when comparing between the two with a fixed focus lens but it would be minimal.
