bassguy 0 Posted April 3, 2015 Just upgraded to ATT uverse from yahoo dsl... had 3 POE cameras connecting to a netgear POE switch, using my mac as DVR, worked great. IP addresses were formerly 10.0.1.101, 102 and 103. Now my new Uverse gateway 192.168.1.254 does not recognize these cameras. I also do not have the ability to assign an IP address to a camera, I know the mac addresses but the cameras do not appear on my network even using a 3rd party IP scanner. I am not able to manually add an ip address to a mac address, the gateway only allows IP allocation to recognized devices. Cable is connected from switch to uverse gateway, cameras are still getting power. Rebooting of all things makes no effect. Connecting switch to router to gateway has no effect. Any leads greatly appreciated.

You need to either change your pc's subnet to match the old ones so you can connect the camera direct to pc (or both to a switch) and then change the cameras....you can temporarily change the routers subnet to match the cams and then log into the cams and change them... Some manufacturers like hikvision have tools like SADP that allow you do easily make the change.
bassguy 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Thanks for the tip. Got me going in the right direction. The Uverse gateway would not allow me to make these changes but I was able to use my router behind the gateway to do so. The cameras are 3S, all is good now so may not mess with it any further. THANKS!!
