Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Hi, Ok, I tried searching the forum, but getting even more confused. I am very new to this, and rather lost at the moment. I had 4 x DVR's installed in my shop over the past few years. 3 x 16ch, 1 x 32ch, HikVision. I contacted my technician, and asked if I could view them remote, and he advised yes. I installed a 4mb uncapped adsl line to do this. I have a D-Link DSL-2750U router. I am having tons of headaches here. I get the one to work, then two others, then these three, then those two. Crazy, inconsistent results. My technician can't help either. I want to use ivms-4500 on my Android device. What are the ports I need to be forwarding to run 4 x DVR's? 80, 8000, and 554? Do I change them for each individual ip / dvr? I had: 10.0.0.51 81 8001 554 10.0.0.52 82 8002 554 10.0.0.53 83 8003 554 10.0.0.54 84 8004 554 This is the first time since uTorrent I mess with ports... dangerous times. Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Note: Only these 4 DVR's and my laptop are connected to the Router.
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Do you have local network access to DVR-s?
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 I can ping them all? If that answers the question
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 See, I have had some successes. But not on all 4. I intend to use HiDDNS. I get all 4 added online in the hikonline portal. No joy viewing them though. Could be Web Components plug in that gives me probs..
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Your question was about video access by android, is that correct? I asked about local access by android or another devices (browser or dedicated software) is it possible?
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 I have local access via the screen, plugged in? I use a mouse to interact. I have not tried accessing them on the local network via LAN. Do I download a viewer for my laptop? Yes, in the end, I need to view this on my android via the internet.
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) I understand that preview by local network is ok? Do you have public IP address on D-link router from your ISP? I have not tried accessing them on the local network via LAN. Do I download a viewer for my laptop? Yes you can preview by internet browser. Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 A static public ip? No. I intend to use HiDDNS.
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 A static public ip You have to check it in router STATUS tab. Static IP is must not always be public IP.
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Is it the ip next to WAN connections? the ipv4? there is one, yes.
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Yes it is WAN connection, there you can see IP address.
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Still nowhere closer to getting this to work.
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Have you been redirected ports in Virtual Server tab? Can you show us it? IP addressing on your devices is all time same like in your first post? I had: 10.0.0.51 81 8001 554 10.0.0.52 82 8002 554 10.0.0.53 83 8003 554 10.0.0.54 84 8004
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 I have not followed the virtual server route.. I used HiDDNS. Is this also using HiDDNS, or is this a different method?
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 HiDDNS is only domaine name, you have to redirect port on your router.
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Ok, so we will still be using HiDDNS? What do you need me to do next? Virtual servers?
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Ok, so we will still be using HiDDNS? DDNS is needed when your public IP address is dynamic (variable). What do you need me to do next? Virtual servers? Please confirmation. IP addressing is still the same on DVR-s like in first post?
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Ok, so I will be using HiDDNS because my external IP would be dynamic. 3 of the 4 IP's are still the same. I changed 10.0.0.53 83 8003 554 to 10.0.0.55 85 8005 554 The other's are the same.
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Ok, firstly we can configure DVR_1 and ports 81 and 8001 on your router in Port Forwarding tab. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DSL-2750U/Virtual_Skipper_3_+_4.htm
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Ok, paying attention...
Weevil 0 Posted April 4, 2015 My biggest question is, because of 4 x DVR's, does each one need to use unique ports? For all 3 ports? example... 80 8000 554 81 8001 555 82 8002 556 53 8003 557 ????
jimmy29 0 Posted April 4, 2015 Those ports are to different applications or streaming. Please remind me models of DVR-s.
