homeless2 0 Posted March 7, 2006 All right, i have a problem i need some professional help. I have a dvr system which uses apache web server. This dvr is connected to another local PC through a router (Speedtouch). I changed the apache listen port to 81. And i did port forward for 81 over my router, the problem is i cant log into the dvr remotely, only through the local PC if i use the DVR static ip. Any one knows what wrong with it? Thanksss
CollinR 0 Posted March 7, 2006 Which apache enabled DVR is this? I would put apache back on port 80, then internally you can connect to it without specifing a port. Do your port forwarding on the router 80 coming in gets blocked and 81 or whatever gets forwarded to the DVR's IP on port 80.
Thomas 0 Posted March 7, 2006 Check the modem, see if it's one of the ones with a built in firewall.
CollinR 0 Posted March 7, 2006 Are you tring to connect remotely via DDNS? If so I too have had issues with it dropping the specified port when forwarding to the dynamic address. I'm pretty sure the DVR interfaces all lookup your DDNS and use the current IP rather then reling on DNS.
