cglaeser 0 Posted April 14, 2015 What are the benefits of shielded RJ45 crimp-on connectors? There are six computers, printers, router, access point, and other devices connected to a 24 port switch in the bonus room. When adding cameras and other devices to the LAN, is there any benefit to using shielded connectors when terminating the cables. See http://tinyurl.com/l7t58lj If you are using non shielded cat 5e/6/6a cable than using a shielded connector is senseless, if you are expecting a high level of RF interference then using a shielded cable/connector and proper grounding, bonding and signal drain is imperative to a successful implementation. Good luck and best wishes!
