grebar 0 Posted April 18, 2015 I lost the admin password of my 4 CH DVR. The DVR is not well identified, it reports the China brand HENGSTAR, I have not found a support web site on internet. The main board has the following code: HI3520D_V1_65. I have already tried all common things as common passwords (000000, 123456, etc.), removing the battery, etc. Any suggestions to help me? I attach a set of photo of the DVR (front, back and main-board).
Numb-nuts 1 Posted April 19, 2015 WHY DID YOU NEED TO SET A PASSWORD IN THE FIRST PLACE? WAS IT FOR SECURITY REASONS? Now you want to discuss getting past it in a PUBLIC forum, is that also for security reasons?
grebar 0 Posted April 19, 2015 Without the admin password I can not change the setting of the DVR, also when I press the REC button and other buttons the DVR ask me for a password.
Boogieman 1 Posted April 19, 2015 WHY DID YOU NEED TO SET A PASSWORD IN THE FIRST PLACE? WAS IT FOR SECURITY REASONS? Now you want to discuss getting past it in a PUBLIC forum, is that also for security reasons? The reset methods are not a security risk...they are widely known algorithms that require you to be present in front of the NVR and cannot be applied remotely... Numb-nuts 1 Posted April 19, 2015 Thats no good reason to make a joke of DVR security. Thieves can overcome locks, that doesn't mean we should make them a gift of the key does it Ewan?
grebar 0 Posted April 20, 2015 I do not need to reset the password remotly, I completly disinstalled the DVR and the camera. I would like to reuse the DVR in other installation scenario. But... I lost the password.

grebar 0 Posted April 21, 2015 Ah ok! I Will study to learn english man humor (I think its too hard for an italian.) Humor apart, no one can help me to recover/reset password (the pc motherboards have a simple jumper to reset the BIOS paasword, a similar procedure could be enough).
