jokerone 0 Posted April 20, 2015 Over the past few months 2 of my 14 cameras have stopped working. I put a multimeter on one of the power connections (because it was easiest to get to) and it showed no power. The rest seem to be working ok. (aside from some sort of interference sometimes). Would a power supply selectively crap out? thanks.
jazzar 0 Posted April 21, 2015 they can be a hit or a miss- I fitted 3 off 12v brand new units for some fibre Tx units and after 1 week one failed - these were from a reputable psu manufacturer. I have found that if you up the current rating then usually you have less problems ie if you need 12v at 1 amp see if you can use a 1.5 or 2 amp psu.
aibudo 0 Posted April 25, 2015 If it's a commercial type (metal case with separate camera terminal connections), then yes that can happen. As it is, I just made a service call on a commercial 42 camera system and 2 of them had lost power. There are "fuses" on the outputs on some units and they can open. Some are resettable. Not uncommon.
eadysamual 0 Posted May 3, 2015 I think that is because of the power supply cutting issue. Check your connections and fit both the cameras again.
