I/O alarms

Currently, we are using a Hikvision 7700 NVR with support for 32-channels. On a few of our outdoor cameras, we are getting so many false alarms and events that it is making that feature useless.

 

We have heard about putting in some type of IR alarm that can detect motion better than the NVR can. Does anyone know a good place to buy these products?

 

Also, is there anyway the alarm input/output can be run over LAN instead of being plugged directly into the back of the NVR?

alarms are simply a open (normally closed) or closed dc circuit and require only a pair so you could run 4 alarm devices bacck to the NVR in the same way you cuuld run 4 channels of analogue Video over baluns

 

In reality you will often use a PIR or other trigger device which may require 12V DC or 24VAC and so you could pair up the remaining 3 pairs to power the PIR or trigger device. Don't just buy cheap nasty PIRs though as you will be back in the same situation.

Dual beam PIRs are far more particular. Look at the Luminite and the GJD range of PIRs

The PIR would too far from the NVR to plug directly into the back of the NVR, although we do have an Ethernet switch it could be plugged into. Are there any devices that can convert that circuit info to Ethernet and then back again to go into the back of the box?

Some Hikvision cameras do have alarm inputs; you might want to change the cameras you have on those spots for another model that has alarm input, so you can connect the PIR to the camera, instead of needing to run the cable all the way to the NVR.
