G22 0 Posted March 11, 2006 I am considering adding a MUX (ie. Panasonic WJ-FS616), then looping out into a DVR (prob PC Based). The MUX multi-screen out will go to a B-channel on a CCTV CRT monitor. I may also record to a VCR from the MUX for extra recording, or simply as a deterrent for any thieves. Is there an A->D conversion done on the looping outputs on the MUX? If so, how much signal would be lost if any between the MUX and DVR? Tx.
Soundy 1 Posted March 11, 2006 Depends on the MUX, but as a general rule, most aren't converting to digital, and there should be no loss at all.
Thomas 0 Posted March 11, 2006 Any time you go from one connector to another, there is signal loss. But it should pretty low.
CollinR 0 Posted March 12, 2006 If you go with a Geovision combo card you get it all in just the DVR.
rory 0 Posted March 12, 2006 like Thomas said, small loss. Though nothing noticable. Course all depends on how much loss there is already coming from the camera.
