rash.m2k 0 Posted May 16, 2015 Hi All, I've looking to buy about 3 cameras. Now I know hikvision ones are pretty good, but they are £53 a piece. The same seller has another camera which he claims is better than the Hikvision one (seems a reputable seller). So the real question is - which one is better? Also if the HIKVISION was able to write to a simple fileshare (which a raspberry pi could serve) that would be a big win as I'd not need to buy an expensive NVR. Camera makes specs are almost meaningless.. 5mp is not always better than 3mp...for example 3mp will be better in low light (most of the time)...native 2mp or 1.3mp even better in low light.. The cheaper camera does not include POE...they will charge you more for it.. the specs are all over the place..5mp sensor but 2mp lens? what is that?
