cctv_down_under 0 Posted March 13, 2006 Does anyone have any feedback on this DVR and the POS Suite... It looks good, has H.264 and built in UPS and good POS suite, you have to be certified to sell it, so interested in feedback!
rory 0 Posted March 13, 2006 dont know, which model is it? I dont see any that have a battery back up ... I know theyre hard to get a hold of, and you have to answer some form before they even consider you to purchase them ... put me right off .. Rory
cctv_down_under 0 Posted March 13, 2006 All thier models have a built in UPS device, I thought that was a very good idea! You have to be trained and certified before you can sell their equipment, i found this a great idea...keeps out the cowboys, but I would like to hear some industry feedback on it though before going too far. They also have an Intranet with Macromedia online training etc, that was pretty impressive from the small amount I saw. Here is the website... http://www.marchnetworks.com I thought for sure you would know of them with them being almost a US product Cheers
rory 0 Posted March 13, 2006 Yes I heard of them, but they dont seem like they want to sell to anyone else besides a select few, there are other choices out there. If they had a built in Voltage Regulator, then i would be impressed Actually i found them a couple years ago originally, and I was only interested in their wall mount DVRs, as they would match up with Alarm Systems ... i emailed them and never heard back, so last year I emailed them again, a couple months later someone in Puerto Rico emailed me with a form to fill out, and a bunch of questions ... i was like yeah right ... its another Nuvico ...! (except its canadian .. )
cctv_down_under 0 Posted March 13, 2006 I do not think it is another Nuvico.... I apluad anyone that goes to lengths to ensure their product is properly sold, this is what interests me is that this means only a select few, therefore only a few to compete against, plus you must be trained before the sale. I have seen proper text training materials with exams and seperated into hardware and software, this impressed me a lot and once I had seen the online intranet I was very interested indeed. I agree about the voltage regulator, it would be handy indeed especialy in your area, it also extends the life of the power supply. I am just interested in anyone that has info on the use of this product as it seems very well thought out! They do not ven let you use any particular HDD, from what I hear they have some sort of special arrangement with Seagate and they have port addresses already reserved as a standard for many network devices in the firmware. They do seem to know what they are doing with the POS angle as well, using ethernet and reading from journals instead of just taking a 232 dump. So anyone?????
