kg6mti 0 Posted March 13, 2006 Can anyone provide more detail on the Geovision modem server feature. Is there a manual that can be downloaded to detail the features and functionality? I have look through the Geovision 7.05 manual and there is only references to turining on the modem server feature and being able to access remote viewing via a modem. Specifically what I am looking for is can it be set to answer after a specified number of rings? Any help would be great. Thanks!
Jasper 0 Posted March 13, 2006 Do a search through the forum I know that has been discussed before. You would use AT commands to the modem to tell it to answer. I remember posting a link to a site with all the modem commands.

I remember posting a link to a site with all the modem commands. Thanks for the tip. I just spend about an hour searching and checking old posts. I have searched for the following: 1. "geovision modem server" 2. "modem server" 3. "geovision modem" 4. "modem" 5. "modem at commands" 6. "modem s registers" 7. "at commands" 8. "s registers" I have tried to use the "Search all terms" option and with out it. But I reall turned up nothing on the forum. I do know that the S0 register controls the number of rings and I could set the S0 register to the number of rings I desire. The issue I need to answer is does the Geovision software for the modem server have its own settings for features like this? When using the Geovision modem server do I have to configure the modems AT commands and the Sx registers manually or does the Geovision software take care of it? Or all all the modem settings configured from the Windows Control Panel? It would be helpful if anyone has more insight into these questions. Thanks!

jeromephone 6 Posted March 18, 2006 If you are using a external third part modem check the modem's hardware settings you may be able to set rings etc from that as opposed to the geo software
Jasper 0 Posted March 18, 2006 ATSØ=2 [CR] - this plugs in the number 2 into the "S" register which controls how many rings before the modem answers. The [CR] stands for pressing the enter key so don't type that in. You do these command from a DOS window or some type of modem terminal program. Windows has one. Here is a reference of AT commands: http://members.tripod.com/michaelgellis/modem.html This link shows examples of AT syntax used: http://www.zoltrix.com/support_html/modem/USEMODEM.HTM
