xrayhead 0 Posted May 26, 2015 Hi All I need some help as I'm looking for an NVR to support 5 x 1080P Cameras. They will be set-up to record only when the masked are has activity within so not looking to record a permanent stream as I don't see the point and this is how I have my analogue system set-up at present. Many thanks Xray

xrayhead 0 Posted May 28, 2015 Anyone??? I'm struggling to find any help or recommendations with this one any of the forums. Thanks.. maybe you should start with tell us what cameras you have? 2 x Hikvision DS-2CD2132F-IS 3Mp 3 x Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I 3MP Also I would like a wide angle for the front of my house 2.8mm/380TVL. Looking at the selection it list's 380TVL = 2.8mm 540TVL = 4mm 600TVL - 6mm If the camera has higher TVL is it better in low light? I plan to set-up the NVR to record alarm events only (IE when something moves in front of the camera). Many thanks for your help1
xrayhead 0 Posted May 28, 2015 Sorry I should also add that I intend to select the high Frame Rate over the high image, so if 1080p gives me a better frame rate than the 3MP images I suppose that will be more beneficial (not 100% sure as I only have experience with BNC 480p stuff at present). Thanks
MaxIcon 0 Posted May 28, 2015 Those TVL settings are just ordering codes for the lens size you want. They aren't actual TVL numbers. TVL is a resolution spec (much abused), and isn't used for IP cams in general. So, if you want wide angle, you'd order the 380TVL, which would get you the 2.8mm lens. Generally, you'll get full frame rates at 1080p and lower frame rates at 3MP. The Hiks have a smaller horizontal FOV at 3MP than at 1080p, which is unusual, but that's the way they roll. xrayhead 0 Posted May 30, 2015 Thanks for the help, I'm 99% on the DS-7608 NI-E2/8P at present, this seem to fit my needs and looks like it has way more features than the out dated KGuard System I have at present! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321687375587?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&var=510591065458&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Alanm 0 Posted June 1, 2015 KTNC makes a nice user friendly NVR with either 4/8/16 inputs. The 8 port unit actually supports 16 cameras with the use of an external POE switch. It's easy to use and set up. If you're not a KTNC dealer, you'll have to purchase retail online.
xrayhead 0 Posted June 1, 2015 I've Googled "KTNC CCTV NRV" and there are no results?
JoeyJoey 0 Posted June 1, 2015 If you want to be happy, get the same brand of camera that the NVR can use.
