Does anyone have experience with these cameras, or 360 degree cameras in general?

Axis M3027-PVE

Samsung SNF-8010-VM

I'm contemplating a 360 degree camera to monitor my front yard, entryway, and sidewalk. It would hang under eaves at a central unobstructed location. I know it's a bit of a compromise vs. a multicamera solution, but I want a system with a low profile.

Desired specs are:

5MP+

On-camera dewarping (3x independent streams)

Outdoor rated

Am I overlooking any other models? Thanks!

I demo'd the Vivotek recently and there's a definite improvement in picture clarity over the 5MP. However, the 187° AFOV of the SNF-8010 is just a must-have feature for FishEye IMO. Unless you mount a 180° AFOV cameras really high, you're probably not going to see what you want. If I were to guess, the 7° difference equates to about 15ft higher 25 yards out. That's the difference between only seeing someone's feet at the door verses all the way above the door.

I've deployed a number of SNF-8010s and really like them (they're far from perfect though). Can't wait for higher res versions to come out.

I would look at the Mobotix Q25 6MP camera. We've installed many of these and they are solid and reliable with extensive configuration options. These are German built cameras and the software is in a different league compared with the Chinese brands.

Some questions, please.

Does the IP camera send the Compressed Bit stream for the Fish-Eye Warped Video? Or Does it de-warp into sub regions of videos, then compress each sub region, and sending those compressed streams? How many sub - regions in what resolution? Or Does it send both streams of originally warped video and sub-regions of de-warped.
