marek2123 0 Posted June 20, 2015 Hi, Hoping for some advice off the tech minded. I currently use a Swann DVR8-4200 - 8 Channel 960H 1TB DVR System with a mix of cameras from 700 to 1200tvl. I use Cat6 cable with RJ45 Balun w/Audio Video/Power and this works well. I use the Cat6 just because it was available and was hoping this would be future proof. I was looking to upgrade from a DVR to NVR and was looking at the Swann NVR8-7082 8 Channel 720p Network HD as this can be picked up for £199 off ebay, not ready for the full 1080p yet as pricy. Two questions, will I still be able to use my camera set up and upgrade gradually or will the cameras be incompatible? Also will this be able to supply POE to the existing set up over the cat 6 to the baluns or will I have to run a separate power which may outweigh the set up cost altogether. I tried looking but I cannot find a simple answer so any advice would be appreciated
