Axton 12ES38130 AT-12E-S 850nm IR Illuminator thoughts?

Hey everyone.

 

Just wondering if anyone has tried this IR illuminator (or any in the series) and what your thoughts about it might be.

 

Is it fairly new IR tech or outdated, Axton quality, problems, stories you may have about them, etc.?

 

This would be for a residential backyard to replace some older and much cheaper IR illuminators.
