DDNS not connecting, IP connects

Hi

 

I have my DVR running, ver. 8.57

win 7

 

all of a sudden my DDNS has stopped working

 

I cannot remotely view using DDNS

but I can still connect using my IP address, which is a pain when it changes all the time

 

my DDNS is running

I have used the same domain name for years

 

this happened today

 

If I click on 'save' all I see in the box below is a 'page cannot open' error, or no connection

or whatever

 

instead, I should see: 'update successful'

 

I thought I'd try setting up a new DDNS name

but no matter how many times I click on 'register' close the window and click again

 

all I get is that 'cannot open page' message

 

instead of the register page

 

any ideas?

I got up this morning and it worked

Maybe your DDNS host was having issues temporarily.

yes

 

that makes sense, but I had another DVR using dipmap.com that was connecting fine

 

, but they have more than one server I am sure so maybe that was still the issue
