cabin31 0 Posted July 17, 2015 Hi all, I am looking for a very sensitive IP(PoE) camera. The use of it is like this: Two of the cameras are installed at both side of a entrance of a parking lot. A sedan comes into the parking lot at a very low speed, about less than 20Km/h(12.5mile/h), and while it passes the entrance the camera takes pictures and send it to a server. The server saves the images as snap shots and moving picture, and also simultaneously check if there is a any scratch or broken vestige on both side of the sedan, and if there is the server detect it and cause alarm. What I am looking for is a camera that can be able to detect that like things. It will be industrial camera and if find the right one I expect the quantity will be quite big and on going. Please help me out. Thanks,
ssnapier 0 Posted July 26, 2015 Do you have 3rd party software analyzing the images? If so, how much lighting is in this parking lot? Do the cameras need to be covert or will they be in plain view? Are you against using IR light for this at night if the lighting is not adequate?
thewireguys 3 Posted July 26, 2015 We just did this for a car dealer using 3 4K Avigilon cameras without the analytics.

Are you against using IR light for this at night if the lighting is not adequate? Yes we have alalyzing software. Actually the place we are going to use the camera is not in parking lot but entrans of parking lot. I have talked with a camera supplier that the camera is global sutter which is Ok but its resolution is 1.3M. We need higher resolution. However the camera works like this: A sensor and two or three cameras are set in the entrans and when a car comes in or out from the parking lot it detects car is comming and give a signal to the cameras, then the camera start taking pictures and the server saves it as a snap shots and moving file. Then later if there is an issue on the car like scratches or broken, the stored pictures can provide it was happend before entering to the parking lot or in the parking lot. That's the purpose of this system. Do you have any recommandable camera or idea? Thanks,
thewireguys 3 Posted July 28, 2015 In my experience the cars will have to come to a complete stop for 5 seconds or so to get a good shot. Controlling the lighting is key.
