WildCard 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Searching for geovision backup seems to pull up everything on geovision whether or not it has backup in it... I get a weird error on one server when loading Geo 7.0.x software, it says 'START SERVER FAILED'. I posted about this a long time ago and conclusion was to reinstall - just getting to it now. What files need to be backed up so I don't have to reconfigure later? I am going to do a full uninstall/reinstall of the 7.0.5 software because installing on top of itself didn't help with the error. Thanks! -WC-
WildCard 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Seems it's in the GeoMulti.ini file in the c:/windows folder. Thanks anyways gents! -WC-

WildCard 0 Posted March 20, 2006 oh nice, never thought to look in the sticky thread. So to export the settings, would all I have to do is put the export path of (c:\) in the dialog box and hit export? If so, I am getting an error of 'Export could not complete'. Are all the necessary settings in the geomulti.ini file or is there other settings in other files? -WC-
rory 0 Posted March 21, 2006 c:\ will work if you have a C: Drive ... Did you already uninstall anything ..? Generally yes, but there is info in other files also. goto the C: drive and the folder GeoSettingz and see if any files were copied. Also what version of Geo software do you have? rory 0 Posted March 21, 2006 These are the files under Windows that have settings info in them. You would be getting an error if one of these are missing. I can correct it to just ignore it for you, or just manually copy these. \GEO_CS.ini \geoat.ini \geobcast.ini \GeoBrand.ini \GeoDxDraw.ini \GeoLan.ini \GeoMailSetup.ini \geomcast.ini \GeoModem.ini \GeoMulti.ini \geonet.ini \GeoPreview.ini \GeoServerList.INI \geoXCli.ini
WildCard 0 Posted March 21, 2006 I can manually copy them, you rock for offering to edit your VB code for me. Thanks for pointing out what files I need. Restoring should be as easy as reinstalling to 7.0.5 after unisnstalling - and copying the files back to the windows dir? -WC-

WildCard 0 Posted March 21, 2006 I got those files, and I found 3 of those missing: \geonet.ini \GeoServerList.INI \geoXCli.ini Would that be something that might be causing my 'SERVER START FAIL' dialog? -WC-
