blakjak220 0 Posted August 2, 2015 Quick question.... I've got a LaView 8 channel NVR with built in PoE switches and will have 6 cameras attached right now. My question is... do these things put off too much heat to be stored in a somewhat small coat closet with no venting? I will have the wires going up thru the ceiling then coming out to the router, the cameras and a monitor.. so the only piece of electronics in the closet will be the NVR itself. Also, it's in my house, so the surrounding area will always be climate controlled. Thanks Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
sangdogg 0 Posted August 7, 2015 you need to install a vent. fan in the closet or the dvr will fail within 6 months. putting the dvr in the closet is a bad idea without a fan. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
