Dale 0 Posted August 7, 2015 I have purchased a swann dvr system. I have it up and a few cameras working already. I have a few things I have not figured out how to do yet. It came with no manual or cd. I went to their site, only thing I have found is how to install it. Not how to work/configure it. Plus I'm a paper kinda person, not pdf. I contacted customer support to find out which exact head unit I have (no sticker, just package deal sticker). They said to contact customer support.... um, that's you!!! ????? So what I am looking for help on. 1. The saved "before" and "after" once the motion sensors are triggered. I have them set at 5sec, it seems to be saving about 30sec?? I have not rebooted it since, but I have hit apply, on each camera. 2. I don't see how to delete saved videos. I see export which I have not tried yet. 3. I can get live feed on my phone from internal wireless. But I cant seem to get it to do outside. I'm not understanding the open up the router stuff(comcast/xfinity router) I have to do a droid and iphone on this. 4. Any way to access this from my pc? I found a video on youtube, said to go in via internal ip addy. Didn't work.

Boogieman 1 Posted August 8, 2015 As I mentioned, I don't know what main unit I have. The kit I bought is convr-b163mp looks like a hikvision rebranded NVR... You dont have to delete stored video, just set it to overwrite once full You should be able to log into the unit using IE and the ip address of the NVR. For remote viewing you will need to learn about port forwarding..there are many threads on this subject.
Dale 0 Posted August 8, 2015 I know it will overwrite. But I was wanting to beable to go in and delete old vids manually. Guess I'm sol on that. Tried, didn't work. Yea, I know its my router, but I'm not understanding any of it. Tried doing the wifi access from my phone this morning while adjusting camera angles. Wont work unless I have a perfect signal (in the room the nvr and router are in). So not much good that does either.

If you dont want to take the time to learn about port forwarding, then you will need to hire someone to do it, they can port forward or setup a VPN. If its not working unless you have perfect signal, that could be due to your wifi router.
