Are these camera and nvr compatible?

Recommended Posts

I did months of research and this is what I came up with. I am mainly looking for plug and play. I plan to order 8 cameras and a 4gb wd hdd. I install analog system in the past. This will be my first nvr installation. I would appreciate any comments.

Nice NVR and the camera gives a really good image. They should be playing nicely together.

Hardware-wise...real nice setup.

One caveat is not about the hardware itself, but rather who you buy it from.

You're probably familiar with this, but I'll post it anyway for those that may Google into this thread later.

The seller in this case may not be someone that fully supports the product. Sometimes electronic devices simply fail (or even DOA). An eBay seller may not be a licensed Hikvision vendor, so you may not be able to go directly to Hikvision for firmware updates.

This isn't just for Hikvision...it's not even just for security cameras. Something such as radar detectors...it's the same deal if you buy an Escort MAX on eBay.

But...check with the return policy, use the PayPal thingie to be able to return it if you need to and it should be as good as most buying experiences out there.

Before making final decision, you better wait for Boogieman, dancing around in this forum. He may recomend you his 4MP and NVR, for sure.

Well i certainly will not recommend the crap D1 resolution the Sunnykims company sells. If you have nothing useful to add, then dont comment. Stop being upset because I called you out on trying to sell your companies junk D1 resolution cameras that should NEVER, under any circumstances be installed in 2015, NEVER.

There are newer better hikvision cameras...look for local sellers with legitamte firmware or you will have issues...

Look at the hikvision turret camera, its a better design than the bullet. There is a 3mp 2332, and a 4mp http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/Products_accessries_159_i5636.html\

the 4mp has better night and low light vision as demonstrated in the images shown here

You did pop up, never failing my expectation, boogieman. LoL

Likewise...though im surprised that your failed to promote your companies junk D1 products as an alternative to 3mp HD. What happened they stop paying you commission to peddle your junk to unsuspecting users as "advice"?

Nobody sells a junk, if staying on business more than 20 years.

Hoping that you make ends meet, enough commisions from 4MP Chinese cameras.

I also found a ds-2cd2042wd-i 4mp english version for $150 at ali. can you point me to some US stores?

I will also consider getting this bundle from costco and just call it a day Q-See 16 Channel HD NVR Security System with 3TB HDD and 8 4MP HD IP Cameras Item #559497. I read somewhere that q-see was the same hardware as hikvision or dahua

I just finish relocating my old analog system. It was a lot of work running all the cables to the dvr. My next install with the nvr I am considering going with a poe switch which will making the wiring much easier and neater. I was trying to stay away from a separate poe switch because I felt it would make the system more complex. I was looking for a plug and play. I don't plan to tinker with the system much.

I read a lot about the noisy fan with the built in poe switch model. Where can I find a step by step instruction of setting up a nvr with a separate poe switch? would this instruction be in the box with the nvr?

I plan to go with the hikvision 7600 series nvr with the 3mp cameras since the 4mp is not widely available as yet.
