bentech 1 Posted August 14, 2015 Hi , Just a generic question regarding IP66 DOME cams with humidity. I read about the IP66 rating: "IP rated as "dust tight" and protected against heavy seas or powerful jets of water." Does the DOME cam should have a hole to evacuate humidity to avoid having condensation because of the difference of temperature outside or they should be completly sealed ? I saw a few DOME with fan inside and some without. Thanks !!!
jazzar 0 Posted September 9, 2015 most units I have seen have a heater with a thermostat that will switch heater on when temp drops low, some also have fans to agitate the air and hopefully result in an even warm temp all around the inside of the dome and eliminate condensation. 51cent 8 Posted September 10, 2015 I put an interior ptz camera into an airtight dome to use outside and it fogged up. A few silica gel packs solved that problem. I live in a hot high humidity area.
