JEFFsafeguard 0 Posted August 26, 2015 Ive been told that the only way to achieve the 1080 video is to transmit over coax. Has anyone used 960h cams over UTP? My interlogix rep is the person telling me to only use coax. I plan on using coax but i would like to have the option of using utp. whats your thoughts? Huh? 1080p is much higher resolution than 960h...its day and night difference. You are most likely being sold an HD over coax system that is either, TVI, SDI or CVI... Boogieman 1 Posted August 26, 2015 they are TVI. http://www.interlogix.com/video/product/truvision-hd-tvi-analog-cameras/ These are rebranded hikvison TVI cameras. They sell baluns to specific to TVI, so that you can run them on ethernet cable...i never tested it though. Search for tvi baluns.
