kyelz73 0 Posted August 30, 2015 I was wondering if it is possible to connect two DVR's together so use the one internal hard drive. I have a four camera box but bought a second box to use more camera and i want to connect the two boxes as only one box has an internal hard drive to record and i was hoping i wouldn't need to but another one. Is this possible?
ats7851 0 Posted September 2, 2015 I don't think one drive can save video from two recorders. There is only one power port and one data port on drive.

Is this possible? Nope. You better buy a new 8 channel DVR, which costs a lot less than your old 4 Ch DVR, and not costing much than your new 4 Ch DVR. aibudo 0 Posted September 2, 2015 I agree with the purchasing with a new 8ch DVR, but there is a short term thing that would allow it. If the one DVR has a video output jack, then connect the video out on the DVR that doesn't have a hard-drive into a camera input jack on the one that does have a hard-drive. Don't recommend this method, but until you get a new 8ch unit, that would work. Kind of generic and crude, but,,,,,,,,,
