MattVidionics 0 Posted March 24, 2006 I am now planning on getting rid of my Anykeeper card and buying a proper GV-800 (wow they're expensive!). My DVR PC is in my loft (attic/roof). so I will access the recordings/settings/live video from another PC over my home network. With the Anykeeper card, I could do all this, and the remote GUI is EXACTLY the same as on the server. The server Geovision GUI looks great (except the eyes!). What I want is, to access the DVR from a client PC on my network, "as if" I was looking at the server PC. Can I get the same GUI as the server on a client PC over my network? Can you get all the features that are on the server, on my client PC? I don't want to keep going up into the roof to access the PC (especially at night, as it disturbs the family!). I don't really like the idea of using a remote program like VNC either. Thanks for any information, Matt
Jasper 0 Posted March 24, 2006 As far as I know you are going to have to use VNC to access the Main GUI on the GEO system to make changes through the software. That is the easiest way anyway. The remote viewing software will allow you to see your security security cameras as if your in front of the DVR anyway. Hope this helps.
bassman99 0 Posted March 31, 2006 Also with the version 8 software you have some minor remote configuration. You can start/stop monitoring and change the camera brightness, contrast and saturation. As Jasper said, using something like Ultra VNC is the easiest way. It works very well, we use it a lot! The latest Control Center software is also now out in Version 8. With this you do exactly what you need....access the geovision system as if you in front of it. This software also has a powerful video matrix option which enables you to view up 64 cameras on 1 screen!
CJL 0 Posted March 31, 2006 Hello All, I am new here, this is my first post. Is the V8.0 Control Center's video quality better than Multiview? If you use VNC or UltraVNC for remote viewing then you have to disable Directdraw OL. So no full screen display at GV system. I am using old GV-600 4port V2 so I can't install the V8.0. Hopefully, I can get new card by next week. By the way, this forum is fantastic! I learnt a lot here. You guys are great! Thanks, CJL
