kbs7 0 Posted September 15, 2015 My firm recently revamped an old analog cctv system in a hotel and utilized their existing coax infrastructure and power wiring and upgraded it to megapixel cams utilizing HD-SDI. For some reason 7 cameras on 3rd and 7 on the 4th floor have burn't circuitry implying over current. Both the floors are powered separately through PSU's rated at 10A. The DVR's on this floor are powered separately and they are fine. Its possible there was a voltage surge and the cameras (each rated at 0.5A) pulled in more charge and burnt down but I am looking for any other ideas that might have caused this? cavcom 0 Posted March 18, 2016 is it possible that the new cameras are DC and the old were AC? If so it will fry the new cameras, ask me how I know
