JeffL2 0 Posted October 9, 2015 I plan to install a system but I don't know what is involved in running the cables from the cameras to the DVR. The easiest entry point to the DVR is via my house's crawl space. I think the easiest way to get the cable from the cameras to the crawl space would be through conduit running down the exterior of the house, but it would be neater to bring the cables down through the exterior walls. How could that be done?
jeromephone 6 Posted October 10, 2015 If you can. run the cables on the inside look up on google various methods of fishing the walls. I would attach the cables to the floor joists to keep them from getting wet and generally being in the way.
JeffL2 0 Posted October 10, 2015 Thanks for the tip. I couldn't think of what to Google. My attic is kind of tight with HAVC ducts so it might be easier to feed the cable from the exterior wall into the cavity instead of feeding it into the attic and then down the wall. I'll have to figure it out when I'm ready to install.
zr1 0 Posted October 13, 2015 Exterior walls typically have insulation to deal with. Not impossible, just an extra component.
