grizli 0 Posted November 5, 2015 Hey everyone, I moved to Genius Vision NVR from iSPY today. Software itself is good, but so far I'm having hard time making this thing do what I want Before I go anywhere further: I Switched because I need a free software that works across different vendors and supports hardware motion triggers. iSpy also had some stability issues. If there are other solutions, I'll be happy to hear them (Milestone is no go, I keep 6 months worth of recordings) Anyway, my issue is - this thing by default just wants to record everything. I disabled all the triggers I can find, but every time there is a video loss - it records. Anyone knows how to disable this stupid thing? All I'm after, is to record on motion detection from cameras themselves (HIKVision does a great job at that and others are decent enough). Nothing else. Yet after running it for 2 hours I ended up with 1.3Gb file.... seriously?
moefinley 0 Posted September 14, 2016 I know this a really old post but I thought I'd answer it for those Googling. By default Genius Vision sets cameras to 'Unconditional recording', which is recording 24x7. You can change this in the 'Camera setup' dialog.
