Zmodo 4 ch DVR help

hi there

i'm trying to master my 4ch zmodo dvr

i trying to connect via rs232 port (i made the conector with 3 pins Rx,Tx and GND)

but all i got is un-understandable symbols , is there any special setting like baud setting and parity bits

also i'm trying to telnet but i fail to resolve the root password can any body help me

I realize this is now an older post, but it's impossible to answer a question when we don't know what model "DVR" you have and what you are trying to connect to!
