Hikvision - all cameras work with all nvrs?

i go to the Hikvision site, and i dont see a 'compatibility chart' like found on the Swann site... but apparently Hikvision makes all the Swann cameras. i had someone buy a Swann NHD-815 and not be able to use it with their 7200 - but, the 7200 did notice and add the camera if it was connected to the local network and not the NVRs network. the NVR did not have total control (motion detection didn't work for example).

 

so...

 

is it safe to assume all Hikvision IP cameras will work with all Hikvision NVRs?

In short, yes.

 

But if you get a NVR and try to make it work with a Hikvision IP camera from maybe 5 years ago, it might be hard. Or if you get a european/american NVR and try to get it to work with chinese IP cameras, it might be hard. Etc.

I have Swann SWNHD-820 cameras which are rebranded DS-2CD2032-I from HikVision, and yes they do indeed work just fine with HikVision software.
