Bundy 0 Posted November 9, 2015 I am planning to purchase a NVR system with 4 cameras for my home and have narrowed my choices down to the following three systems Swann SWNVK-873004 - http://www.swann.com/us/swnvk-873004 Amcrest AMNV3M8-4B - http://amcrest.com/qcam-3mp-8-channel-nvr-4-poe-bullet-ip-cameras-211.html# Lorex LNR400 Series B - https://www.lorextechnology.com/site/HD-IP-security-camera-system/8-Channel-HD-NVR-with-Weatherproof-IP-Cameras/prod660002.p I am most concerned about overall picture quality, PC viewing & configuration capability, and the mobile application. Also, I want to be sure I can use a PoE switch to connect the four included cameras to the NVR as I have run one Cat5e cable from my attic to the location of the NVR in the basement. I am leaning toward the Swann system, but I am curious if anyone can comment on experience with any of these systems. I am wondering of any one system has significant advantages over the others. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Bundy
brycenesbitt 0 Posted December 28, 2015 I'd say focus on the software. Lorex for example uses a rebranded Chinese system which has pretty poor playback. Look at the user manual for each system, and see if they're really the same (same icons, same names on options even if the presentation is somewhat different). longstory 0 Posted January 7, 2016 If you are most concerned about overall picture quality,PC viewing & configuration capability, take more attention to TVL,the higher ,the better . Besides ,what kind of cameras do you want ? POE camera or IP camera ,they are different
