dbsanders 0 Posted November 14, 2015 I tried to go cheap and got this system on Amazon. I figured since they were POE cameras, they would work with a standard POE switch. I didn't want to run four cables all the way back to the NVR for power, which would require very long runs and new wall jacks with 4+ ethernets. When I plugged the cameras into the switch (a Linksys LGS108P), they wouldn't power on. This switch does 802.3af and 802.3at and powers my Cisco access points just fine. I wrote to Annke and got a confusing answer: Our camera support 802.3at PoE. But our cameras can't connect other POE switch except Annke. since the voltage and order of 8 lines in cable may be different. Doesn't make any sense to me, as those standards dictate voltage negotiation and cable pinouts. Long story short the cameras don't appear to be 802.3af or 802.3at, and I sent the whole thing back.
