Exterior cable connection problem - pulling my hair out

Recommended Posts

Please help - I have a ANNKE 2 camera system, but the place I need to put the camera on the exterior wall is not where I want the cable to go through. My problem is the cable from the camera is only about a foot long with pre-attached BNC and Power connector, and I need this cable to run about a couple of meters before going into the wall. These connectors aren't waterproof so would I need a waterproof junction box? I'd still have to feed the cables in to the box with connectors attached. I'm tempted to cut then connectors of and connect an extension cable directly and use shrink sleeve to waterproof but this will void my warranty!

Any ideas?

Soldering the wires and heat shrink is more reliable.

A externally mounted water proof junction box is more serviceable.

If you don't want to void your warranty, a dc power plug to screw adapter or dc power plug pigtail with silicon fusing tape/heatshrink is an option...
