Need help picking NVR and cameras

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Ive been looking around the internet and this forum and Im needing some direction. Any advise on the below would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what we are hoping to get out of the system:

- 16 Channels (I dont have to have 16 ports in the NVR, as long as I can use a POE switch and add more cameras)

- 1080 resolution excellent daytime distance, night vision distance on at least 8 outdoor cameras.

- NVR w/ good software and an IOS Phone App. I dont want to have to fiddle with getting things to work, patching etc.

- Motion recording, alerting?

- Multiple replaceable drives, 2- 3 tb storage

- Warranty/Customer service/ easy to repair or replace boards?

I see hikvision is recommended on the site here.

I also see Dahua recommended on the forum alot. From some internet reading the remote viewing via the internet was a pain to setup and required an alternate source/Feed?

Lorex I heard was cheap but I also heard they are rebranded Dahua, which I see Dahua NVRs are what many on the forum is using.

Qsee. Also Junk?

What about Samsung NVRs?
