Odysseus 0 Posted December 14, 2015 Greetings from a newbie (to this forum and to security surveillance.) I was advised not to buy one of the newer "user friendly" systems and to buy the Honeywell HEN04111 NVR and matching cams, which I did. In short I am in over my head. I have managed to pull the wiring, mount the cams, and get a picture from each of my four cams on the monitor attached to the NVR. However I made the mistake of taking what I thought was due care in changing my passwords. Cannot explain it but can no longer log in to either admin, 888888 or 666666. The admin fail returns "Current account is locked" and the numeric say either "Access denied" or "Login Failed" I have spent the entire afternoon trying sort this out and my googling has not helped at all. I now want to reset the system, but cannot even figure out how to do this, so if anyone can get me past this hurdle, I would appreciate it. (And I do this with trepidation as it took hours of trial and error to get the video to display the cam inputs, and I cannot remember how I did it. So if I do get it reset, I may be back for assistance in getting to where I am now.) More importantly, I am happy to do research and try to figure things out, but cannot find any web resources which I can understand, or simply cannot find anything in point. So if anyone can suggest a resource (forum, youtube video, or whatever) for noobs that are pitched at an elementary level, please let me have your suggestions. Odysseus 0 Posted December 16, 2015 Does anyone know of a forum or other Internet resource from which I might be able to figure out how to reset my NVR? Thanks.
Jessamy 0 Posted March 29, 2016 We have a Sannce dvr, but many seem to respond in a similar way. This is how I solved the problem of not being let into system settings. This was after we turned off the electricity. Below are the steps that cured it, after days of research and failure, bingo! Instructions on how to reset your CCTV DVR if the password corrupts and you cannot access system settings. 1. In Windows 7 go to - Control panel Programs and Features (on the left panel) Turn Windows Features on and off A box appears. Tick the check box next to Telnet client. OK. Wait and when the box disappears, close Control panel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Make sure your computer and the dvr are both connected to the router. Get the IP address of the dvr. Find Command Prompt and open it. You will see... c:\Users\Yourname> Type... telnet 123.123.1.123 (the IP address of your dvr on your router) login: root Password xc3511 Welcome to Monitor Tech. (Type these letters followed by enter.) [root@monitor /1$ ls (short for list - lists all folders and files) cd mnt ls cd mtd ls cd Config (Capital C in Config) ls Here you will see all the folders and files in your dvr. Look for any called Account1 or Account2 etc. Remove all these by typing rm Account2 (rm short for remove) rm Account1 Check files ls If all the Account files have been removed exit Close the Command Prompt box. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Turn off your DVR. Turn it back on. It should be reset back to factory settings. Look in the manual or contact the makers for the default password. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope this helps! All the best, Jessamy
