I set up my home security system. but I have some problems. Does the camera and NVR is supposed to be the same brand.

Different cameras can match different NVR,it doesn't have to be the same brand.But I suggest that you'd better to buy a camera system rather than hybrid combination, it will save you more time if you are not a tech guy who are familiar with cameras.In addition ,if the camera has problems ,it's more convenient for you to solve it .
